Northern Comfort Reconcile

Know the balance before you post.

The standard reconciliation window in Business Central shows the balance of affected accounts across all time. For a period close, that is not the number you need. And while the standard posting preview shows the full posting effect, it gives you no date-filtered account balance.

Northern Comfort Reconcile adds a dedicated balance preview window. Your standard reconciliation stays exactly as it is — nothing in the standard mechanism is modified.

Two modes

• Reconciliation accounts (fast): the accounts you already flagged for reconciliation, now with the balance as of a cut-off date you choose. A pure balance calculation for the everyday check.
• Full posting preview (in depth): the complete posting preview including automatically generated entries — tax, payment discount, application — combined with a balance overview, optionally as of a cut-off date.

The calculation is straightforward: posted balance up to the cut-off date, plus the effect of the journal lines dated on or before that date.

Built for period close

If your cut-off date falls before some of your journal lines, Comfort Reconcile warns you and keeps calculating. Asking for the balance as of March 31 while a few lines are dated in April is a legitimate close scenario, not an error — so it is never blocked.

Standalone by design

Northern Comfort Reconcile is a self-contained app in the Northern Comfort Finance range. Install it, use it, done.
